Joint project between Broetje-Automation and HIT
Broetje-Automation is the world's leading expert in production processes for the aerospace industry. With a team of around 850 employees at several locations and numerous service bases worldwide, Broetje-Automation plans and implements the most sophisticated machines and systems for assembling aircraft.
Based on customer requests that increasingly want mobility of the components to be produced, and also of the production systems themselves, Broetje-Automation, in joint collaboration with HIT Hafen- und Industrietechnik, has started a project for a mobile platform on which the production machines are assembled. The basis of the platform is the chassis and the control of the “move-e-stars”, which ensure the machine’s area mobility and high positioning accuracy.
The “move-e-star” low-floor transport vehicle is an in-house development by HIT engineers. The highly flexible and mobile transport system is used in the metal, automotive and aircraft industries, among others. The modular design of the system means that large loads between five and 100 tons can be transported even in narrow spaces or aisles.
The heart of the “move-e-star” is the drive axles, in which the travel drive, steering and lifting system are integrated. In the simplest expansion stage, the “move-e-star” is moved using a remote control. But it can also travel its routes completely automatically, for example to transport workpieces from one processing position to another.
Both companies have their headquarters in the Oldenburg area. The joint cooperation is a successful example of the local industry's ability to cooperate and create new paths together.
